Setting Up Your Communications Software

Before you can use the communications features pre-loaded on your
HP PC, you need to configure the fax and phone software.
Once you have followed the steps below, and you have filled in the
personal details necessary for your fax and phone features to work, you
can use your computer to communicate with other users, by fax or by
phone.

How to Set Up Your Communications Software

Throughout the setup procedure, you will be presented with a set of
dialog boxes that you fill in. Each time you finish filling in a dialog box,
click the Next button at the bottom to go to the next dialog box.
Follow the steps below:
1 Click Start, HP centers, Communication, then "Set up your
answering machine". The communications setup program dialog box
opens.
2 At the communications setup program dialog box, click OK. You are
asked if you want to receive faxes.
If you select No, the fax setup program ends and you go directly to
the answering machine setup program.
If you select Yes, the Fax Reception settings dialog box opens:
