Setting Up Your DVD-VCR

Selecting the Recording Speed
You can record a cassette at two different speeds:
N
SP (Standard Play)
N
LP (Long Play)
In Long Play modes:
N
Each cassette lasts twice as long
N
The recording is of a slightly lower quality
To record a cassette... Press the SPEED button on the
remote control, until...
In standard play mode SP is displayed.
In long play mode LP is displayed.
Type Recording Time (in SP)
E-180 180 mins. or 3 hours
E-240 240 mins. or 4 hours
E-260 260 mins. or 4 hours
and 20 mins.
E-300 300 mins. or 5 hours
Setting Up the Language Features
If you set the player menu's, disc menu, audio and subtitle language in advance,
they will come up automatically every time you watch a movie.
❿ Using the Disc Menu Language
This function changes the text language only on the disc menu screens.
1 With the unit in Stop mode, press the MENU button.
2 Select DVD using ❷ buttons, then OK or
3 Select Language Setup using
4 Select Disc Menu using ❷ buttons, then press the OK or
5 Use the ❷ buttons to select 'English'.
- Select "Others" if the language you want is not listed.
6 Press the OK button.
- English is selected and the screen returns to Language Setup menu.

❿ Using the Audio Language
1 With the unit in Stop mode, press the MENU button.
2 Select DVD using ❷ buttons, then OK or
3 Select Language Setup using
4 Select Audio using ❷ buttons, then press the OK or
5 Press the ❷ buttons to select English.
- Select "Original" if you want the default soundtrack language to be the original
language the disc is recorded in.
- Select "Others" if the language you want is not listed..
6 Press the OK button.
- English is selected and the screen returns to Language Setup menu.
❿ Using the Subtitle Language
1 With the unit in Stop mode, press the MENU button.
2 Select DVD using ❷ buttons, then OK or
3 Select Language Setup using
4 Select Subtitle using ❷ buttons, then press the OK or
5 Use the ❷ buttons to select English.
- Select "Automatic" if you want the subtitle language to be the same as the
language selected as the audio preference.
- Select "Others" if the language you want is not listed. Some discs may not
contain the language you select as your initial language; in that case the disc
will use its original language setting.
6 Press the OK button.
- English is selected and the screen returns to Language Setup menu.
