FOR CLUTCH MODEL STRING TRIMMERS
Some units may require the addition of the flat washer supplied in kit. If your
unit is already equipped with a washer under the clutch adaptor or has a vented
tube adaptor, your unit will not need this washer. The washer is provided to
properly space the drum away from the engine housing.

To install new drum and connector:

1. Remove tube adaptor from the engine housing.
2. Remove old drum and connector and replace it with the new one from kit.
3. Remove clutches and flat washer from the clutch adaptor.
4. Remove engine housing.
5. Remove clutch adaptor from the crankshaft.
6. If needed, install new flat washer between clutch adaptor and rotor.
7. Reverse procedure to reassemble.
When reinstalling the clutch adaptor onto the crankshaft, use a
thread-locking agent on threads and torque adaptor to 100-150
in. lbs. (11, 3-16, 9 Nm). This will prevent the adaptor from
coming loose when the clutches are removed.
