O-RING and ROTARY SEAL

LUBRICATION for PUMPS

NOTE
Only handle rotary seals with the protective wrapper supplied in the
package.
For rotary seals, particular care must be given to keeping the
rotary - to - stationary mating surfaces (usually carbon and/or ceramic
parts) free from any contamination. These surfaces should never be
lubricated as it delays the "wear-in" period required to produce an
effective seal.

WARNING

Always fill the pump with water before starting the motor. The seals
must never be run "dry" since the lack of fluid to lubricate these
surfaces will quickly ruin the seal.
Lubricate all " rubber" components of the seal prior to installation.
Lubricate with vegetable oil, plain water or a solution of (50% maximum)
"dish soap" and water. Petroleum-based or silicone-based lubricants are
not to be used as they may adversely affect the "rubber parts."
