Viewing the Display

You can quickly check the status of many of the HDTV features and options
by using the Display.
The Display shows:
•
The current time and date. See page 20.
•
Parental lock settings. See page 38.
•
The status of closed captions (if the broadcast includes them, and if you
have turned on the closed captions feature). See page 42.
•
The type of sound being broadcast, such as stereo, mono or Dolby.
See page 33.
•
The major channel number and the minor channel number if you are
viewing a digital channel. See the Glossary, page 51, for a definition of
major and minor channels.
If you are viewing a digital channel, the Display will also show:
•
the program title.
•
the duration of the program.
•
the audio track language (English, French, etc.).
•
the digital picture grade, such as HD (High Definition) or SD (Standard
Definition). See the Glossary, page 51 for definitions of HD and SD.
If you are viewing an analog channel, the Display will also show the type of cable
(STD, HRC, IRC or AFN).
To view the Display:
Press DISPLAY on the remote control.
To hide the Display:
Press DISPLAY again or wait 10 seconds and the display will disappear.
