STEP 6 . (6 ) TIM E CO RR.
(T ime Correction)
Due to the wide variety o f installatio n and system desig n po ssibilities available, bass perfo rmance may no t always
be o ptimized as a result o f speaker placement relative to the listening po sitio n. So und waves may no t reach the
listener' s ear at the same time as o ther speakers, especially in a multiple subwo o fer co nfig uratio n. Such differences
in phase can result in muddy (unclear) bass o r even a co mplete cancellatio n in the frequency respo nse. Therefo re,
bo th the MRD-M3 0 0 and MRD-M5 0 0 are equipped with Dig ital Time Co rrectio n, making it po ssible to realig n
subwo o fer(s) in time. Pro per use o f this functio n will result in clear, po werful bass with a smo o th transitio n to the
o ther speakers in the system. It is reco mmended to use the calculatio n fo rmula pro vided in the o wner' s manual as a
starting po int fo r this adjustment.
STEP 7 . (7 ) PHASE
Phase co ntro l allo ws yo u to flip the po larity o f the subwo o fer witho ut actually reversing the physical co nnectio ns.
This co nvenient feature is useful when the subwo o fer is in a po sitio n that co uld result in so me cancellatio n, causing
diffused, unclear bass. It is reco mmended to try bo th setting s (0
particular system.
STEP 8 . (8 ) AM P SET
(Amplifier ID N o . / Turn-O n Delay)
The Amp Set menu perfo rms two functio ns. Firstly, by setting the amplifier ID number (1 -8 ), it allo ws the o ptio nal
RACC (RUX-4 2 8 0 Remo te Amplifier Co ntro l Center) to identify each amplifier individually and in a specific o rder.
Seco ndly, it pro vides a variable turn-o n delay that can be used to minimize inrush current in larg e multi-amp
systems, o r to eliminate any turn-o n " po p" .
N O TE: If using a RUX -4 2 8 0 (RACC) w ith more tha n 1 AccuCla ss-D a mplifier, be sure to set ea ch a mplifier w ith a
different ID N umber (1 -8 ). Amplifiers w ith the sa me ID w ill ca use the RACC to displa y "N O AM P."
STEP 9 . (9 ) O UTPUT DISABLE
Previo usly kno wn as " Safe Mo de" , this feature pro vides a simple way to safely adjust the all DSP functio ns with the
amplificatio n circuit turned o ff, eliminating the po ssibility o f speaker damag e during setup. W hen set to " O N " , it
literally disables the hig h current draw o utput stag e o f the amplifier, while leaving the input and pro cessing
sectio ns active. Please no te that this is the o nly amplifier functio n that do es no t eng ag e/ diseng ag e in real time,
but requires the remo te lead to be cycled o ff/ o n fo r the selectio n to take effect. Therefo re, if it is accidentally set to
" O N " during pro g ramming , there will be no o utput the next time the amplifier is activated. Additio nal uses include:
bench setup with a lo w current DC po wer supply, amp valet, tuning o r tro ublesho o ting larg er multiple
amp/ subwo o fer systems, etc.
SETTIN G SAFE M O DE TO "O FF"
• Press and depress the " MO DE" butto n until yo u are
in mo de " 9 " (O utput Disable).
• Push " EN T" and push " EN T" ag ain to select " 9 -1 " (O N / O FF).
• T o g g le
until " O FF" is displayed.
• Push " DISP" to exit.
N o te: This setting will no t take effect until the amp is
turned o ff and then o n ag ain.
STEP 0 . (0 ) M EM O RY
Memo ry Mo de allo ws yo u to sto re all amplifier setting s in an auxiliary backup memo ry. O nce sto red, additio nal
tweaks o r adjustments can be made while retaining the ability to recall the o rig inal setting s at a later time. N o te:
This is simply a co nvenience feature, since all setting s are saved in real time as adjustments are made, and will
remain even if po wer is lo st during setup.
Typica l ca uses for little or no output
1 ) O utput Disa ble is on:
G o to Step 9 (Mo de 9 o n the amp) and set to " O FF" , then cycle amp po wer.
2 ) Subsonic a nd LPF frequency selections overla p or a re too close together:
3 ) If using RUX -4 2 8 0 (RACC) remote subw oofer level is turned dow n :
display mo de (vo ltag e o r temperature) and adjust the level co ntro l.
4 ) Defective or brok en RCA ca bles):
Replace RCA co nnecto rs
5 ) Blow n fuse:
Replace Fuse with pro per value
6 ) Remote trigger is not a ctive:
Check remo te turn-o n lead with a vo ltag e meter
7 ) Ba d ground or pow er connection:
Check and replace g ro und co nnecto r
