The syntax for LDAP URLs does not include any means for
specifying credentials or passwords. Search requests initiated
through LDAP URLs are unauthenticated, unless the LDAP client
that supports LDAP URLs provides an authentication mechanism.
For example, Directory Server Gateway supports authentication.
