This manual contains important information on to the safe assembly, operation and maintainance of your hedge trimmer. Read it carefully before using the hedge trimmer. Keep this manual handy so you can refer to it at any time.

Know Your hedge trimmer (fig. 1)
The safe use of this product requires and understanding of the information on the tool and in this operator's manual, as well as knowledge of the project you are attempting. Before use of this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules.
hand guard
helps protect hand from cutting and deflect chips or other debris away from the operator's hands.
front handle
For easy control of the tool during cutting work.
rear handle
Ergonomic handle with overmold improves comfort and grip.
front switch lever/rear switch lever
The hedge trimmer can be started only if both of the switch levers (in rear and front of the handle) are depressed simultaneously.
blades
steel blades for cutting hedges and shrubs.
blade guard
The blade guard keeps the operator from coming in contact with the sharp blades when the tool is not in use. it also helps keep the blades from being nicked or damaged when the tool is in storage.
battery release button
Press to release the battery pack from the tool.
latch
Locks the battery pack in place when installed on the tool.
ejection mechanism
Aids in removing the battery.
mounting slot
guides the battery pack.

Before each use, inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts, such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not operate this product until all missing or damaged parts are replaced.
APPlicAtion
You may use this product for the purposes listed below:

Always remove the battery pack from the product when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing the battery pack will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury.

Always be aware for the location of your feet, children, or pets when pressing the battery-release button. serious injury could result if the battery pack falls. nEVER remove the battery pack at a high location.
holding the hedge trimmer
The unit has both a front and rear handle. With the blade directed away from you, hold the unit by both handles.
The switch lever in the front handle can be activated on any of the three sides, giving you many choices for a comfortable grip when performing cutting operations (Fig. 4, 5 & 6).
Always keep both hands on the hedge trimmer handles. never hold shrubs with one hand and operate the hedge trimmer with the other. Failure to heed this warning may result in serious injury.
stArting/stoPPing the hedge trimmer
Before starting the hedge trimmer:
to stArt the hedge trimmer
Your hedge trimmer is equipped with two switch levers. Both switch levers need to be pressed for the hedge trimmer to start. depress and hold the switch lever in the front handle and press the switch lever in the rear handle to start the hedge trimmer.
to stoP the hedge trimmer
Move hedge trimmer away from cutting area, release one of the switch levers to stop the hedge trimmer.
Always remove the battery pack from the hedge trimmer during work breaks and after finishing work.
using the hedge trimmer
if the blade jams on any electrical cord or line, dO nOT TOUch ThE BLAdE! iT cAn BEcOME ELEcTRicALLY LiVE And VERY dAngEROUs. continue to hold the hedge trimmer by the insulated rear handle or lay it down and away from you in a safe manner. disconnect the electrical service to the damaged line or cord before attempting to free the blade from the line or cord. Failure to heed this warning will result in serious personal injury or possible death.
if any parts are missing, damaged or broken, do not operate your trimmer until they have been replaced. Failure to do so could result in possibly serious personal injury.
To prevent serious personal injury, always use both the front handle and the rear handle to hold the hedge trimmer during operation.
To prevent serious personal injury, keep hands away from blades. do not attempt to remove cut material or hold material to be cut when the blades are moving. Make sure that the blades have totally stopped and the battery pack is removed before clearing jammed material from blades. do not grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking up or holding the unit.
clear the area to be cut before each use. Remove all objects, such as cords, lights, wire, or string which can become entangled in the cutting blade and create a risk of serious personal injury.
toP cutting
Use a wide sweeping motion (see Fig. 7). A slight downward tilt of the cutting blades in the direction of motion gives the best cutting results. if desired, you can use a string to help guide you as you cut your hedge level. decide how high you want the hedge. Then, stretch a piece of string along the hedge at this height.
Trim the hedge just above this guide line.
side cutting
When trimming the sides of the hedge, begin at the bottom and cut upwards (see Fig. 8). Trim the side of a hedge so that it will be slight narrower at the top.
This shape will expose more of the hedge, resulting in a more uniform growth.
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. To ensure safety and reliability, all repairs should be performed by a qualified service technician.
cleAning
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the product when cleaning or performing any maintenance.
never use water for cleaning your trimmer. Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents. Use clean clothes to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
shArPening the cutting blAde
lubricAting the blAde (fig. 10)
For best operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge trimmer blade with light weight machine oil before and after each use.
trAnsPorting And storing
Blades are sharp. When handling the blade assembly, wear non-slip, heavy-duty protective gloves. Do not place your hand or fingers between blades or in any position where they could get pinched or cut. NEVER touch blades or service the unit with battery pack installed.
