    NS-CLHD01 Setting up your radio Installing the batteries Note The batteries will keep your clock running in case of a power outage. To install the batteries: Open the battery compartment on the bottom of your radio. Place four AA size alkaline batteries (not included) in the battery compartment.

  • Page 18 NS-CLHD01 Setting the alarm Your clock radio supports dual alarms. The alarms can be set up separately and the alarms can be set up in clock mode. To set the alarm time: Press and hold AL1 or AL2 to open the alarm set menu for the alarm of your choice.

    Advanced HD Radio™ Table Top Using your radio Understanding radio modes Your radio has a Clock mode and three audio modes (FM, AM, and AUX in). AM has Analog and HD Radio modes. FM has Analog, RBDS (Radio Broadcast Data System) and HD radio modes.

    NS-CLHD01 Analog (FM) mode The Analog (FM) mode is the standard mode that has been in use for many years. The FM radio signal is an analog signal. When receiving an FM signal, the “FM” icon appears on the display.
  • Page 23 Advanced HD Radio™ Table Top HD Radio mode HD Radio mode is the new digital mode for AM and FM. Many HD Radio stations have several sub-channels called “multicast channels. ” When receiving an HD Radio signal, the “HD” icon and the channel number appear on the display.
