The Farnel 60 watt G range power supplies use a switching technique to provide stabilised d.c. from
ac. nputs This permts the producion of compact, ightweight and highly efficient units which wil
operate from all norma international mans supplies A front panel switch provides a choice of 220 to
240 voits or 115 to 120 voits with tolerance of -20% to -10% of nominal. Once the required input is
set a cover over the switch prevents accidental selection of the wrong input.
Three models re avalabie in the same mechanical package in combinations of output voitage and
current which give a maximum output power of 60 watts A useful range of output voltage is provided
and may be varied by screwdriver adjustment of a front panel potentiometer. Full output curent is aval
able at any setting of the potentiometer. Output presence is indicated by a front panel LED. The outout
voitage may be progammed by an externaly connected resistor or remotely inhibited. Provision is
made for remote sensing of the voitage at the load to compensate for votage drop across the load con
necting leads
A soft start circuit is used to imit the peak value of input curent at switch on. Output protection, in the
form of constant current imiting and overvoitage protection plus the option of overcurrent trip gives
maximum safeguard to circuitry
