The Farnell 240 watt G range power supplies use a switching technique to provide stabilised d.c. from
a.c. inputs. This permits the production of compact, lightweight and highly efficient units which will
operate from all normal international mains supplies. A front panel link provides a choice of 220 to
240 volts or 115 to 120 volts with tolerance of -20% to +10% of nominal. Once the required input is set
a cover over the link prevents accidental selection of the wrong input.
Five models are available in the same mechanical package in combinations of output voltage and
current which give a maximum output power of 240 watts.Auseful range of output voltage is provided
and may be varied by screwdriver adjustment of a front panel potentiometer. Full output current is avail
able at any setting of the potentiometer. Output presence is indicated by a front panel LED. The output
voltage may be programmed by an externally connected resistor or remotely inhibited. Provision is
made for remote sensing of the voltage at the load to compensate for voltage drop across the load con
necting leads.
A soft start circuit is used to limit the peak value of input current at switch on. Output protection, in the
form of constant current limiting and overvoltage protection, plus the option of overcurrent trip gives
maximum safeguard to circuitry.
The units meetinternational specifications for conducted radio frequency interference and several modes
are on the British P.O. List of Permissitble Attachments (Accessories) -P.0. Datel Services.
The Farnell G range includes single output units rated at 30,60, 120,240, and 360 watts and triple output
units are also available. Further information, including MTFB figures, are available-please ask.
