Readiness for operation of the air-condi-
tioning compressor
– at outside temperatures over approx. 37°F/
3°C
– at fan setting 1 and higher, if a lower setting is
selected, the compressor switches off auto-
matically.
The compressor can be switched off to save fuel.
f If the interior temperature is too high, switch
on the compressor again.
Note on operation
To dry incoming air in damp weather, do not
switch off the air-conditioning compressor.
This will prevent the windows from misting up.
General instructions for
air-conditioning compressor
– Can switch off briefly to ensure sufficient
engine cooling if the engine is operating under
extreme load.
– Switches off automatically at temperatures
below approx. 37°F/3°C and cannot be
switched on, even manually.
– Operates most effectively with the windows
closed.
If the car has been in the sun for a long time,
however, it is a good idea to ventilate the
interior briefly with the windows open.
– Depending on the outside temperature and
humidity, condensation can drip from the
evaporator and form a pool under the car.
This is normal and not a sign of leakage.
If uncooled air flows out when the lowest temper-
ature has been set and the air conditioning com-
pressor has been switched on, switch off the air-
conditioning compressor and consult with an
authorized Porsche dealer.
