Starter Relay Switch; Operation Inspection; Circuit Inspection - Honda CRF150F Service Manual

Install the starter motor into the left crankcase cover
and onto the crankcase.
Install the mounting bolts with the ground cable,
and tighten the bolts.
Install the starter motor cable and terminal nut onto
the motor terminal and tighten the nut.
Install the rubber cap over the motor terminal prop-
erly.
Install the exhaust pipe (page 2-7).
STARTER RELAY SWITCH
OPERATION INSPECTION
Remove the left side cover (page 2-3).
Shift the transmission into neutral.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and push the starter
switch.
The coil is normal if the starter relay switch clicks.
If you don't hear the switch click, inspect the relay
switch circuits (page 23-13).
CIRCUIT INSPECTION
Remove the left side cover (page 2-3).
Remove the starter relay switch from the stays of
the battery case.
GROUND LINE
Disconnect the starter relay switch 4P connector.
Check for continuity between the Light green/red
wire terminal of the wire harness side connector
and ground.
If there is continuity when the transmission is in
neutral or when the clutch lever is squeezed, the
ground circuit is normal.
POWER INPUT LINE
Connect the starter relay switch 4P connector.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Measure the voltage between the Yellow/red wire
terminal (+) and ground H.
If battery voltage appears only when the starter
switch is pushed, the circuit is normal.
