    Pump Description and Navigation The System The pump is designed to provide negative pressure wound therapy to a closed environment over a wound, in order to remove exudate (wound fluid) from the wound site to a disposable canister, which may promote wound healing via removal of fluids, including irrigation and body fluids, wound exudate and infectious materials.

    Pump Setup (cont.) Pump Orientation The pump should be placed the correct way up (see below) on a hard, flat surface while delivering therapy. Caution: Operating the pump when not in an upright position may cause a blockage alarm and may require a canister change.

The pump may be wiped clean with a cloth dampened either with warm soapy water or a diluted bleach solution (100 mL bleach: 1 L warm water).
