OLT-MINI PLUS CARD CAGE The Tellabs 1048 CBA is a compact card cage with a PCB backplane designed for Tellabs 1000 Series plug-in cards. It has four common control slots for processing and power cards, and 10 multipurpose slots for narrowband and broadband cards.

It is made from heavy-gauge zinc-plated steel and has mounting holes in the appropriate locations.

The Rectifier Shelf is 1 RU tall and 10 inches wide, and has space for two 600-Watt, hot-swappable, Rectifier Modules (sold separately). It mounts in the top location of the Wall-Mount Swing Rack, above the Tellabs 1048 CBA card cage.

One or two Rectifier Modules can be installed in the Rectifier Shelf.
Page 29 Tellabs® FlexSym OLT-mini Plus Installation and Turnup Guide WALL MOUNT SWING RACK The optional Wall-Mount Swing Rack can be attached to a wall or other surface that can support the 40-pound (18.1 kg) weight of the fully-loaded swing rack. A flat area of a wall that is approximately 14 inches tall by 29 inches wide is required.
Page 30 Tellabs® FlexSym OLT-mini Plus Installation and Turnup Guide Wall Area Required The swing rack needs a clear, flat area on the wall (or other surface) that is about 14 inches tall and 29 inches wide to allow the rack to swing a full 90 degrees for best access to the rear of the CBA1048 backplane. The supplied paper template is this size when cut out with scissors.

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Observe and follow all ESD instructions while handling Tellabs plug-in equipment. Caution! The Tellabs plug-in equipment uses semiconductor devices that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Do not remove a plug-in from a protective packing box or equipment rack until time of installation or replacement. To equalize the static charge on the plug-in, establish a body path to ground using an ESD wrist strap connected to a ESD ground.

The empty swing rack weighs about 11 pounds and has lots of pointy corners and some exposed hex screw heads, so pick a work surface that will not matter if it gets some scratches and a few gouges as the swing rack is assembled.

Page 41 Tellabs® FlexSym OLT-mini Plus Installation and Turnup Guide DC supply A and B wires have Molex connectors that match those on the Rectifier Shelf on the input, and end in ring terminals that must be attached to the DC power input terminal block on the CBA1048 backplane. The fan alarm cable ends in a small Nylon connector that plugs into the backplane.
