The ONT140W supports security across the optical distribution network and end-to-end over the OLAN system, such as encryption of traffic on the PON using the Advanced Encryption Standard AES-128 and Access Control Lists (ACL) at Layer 2 through 4 levels.

    ONT140W Installation and Turnup Guide Components The ONT140W is modular in design so that its Power Module, ONT Module and Faceplate can be purchased and installed separately. Power Module The ONT140W Power Module contains: • internal power board • 2-pin input power connector for -54 Vdc input The ONT Power Module fits inside the wall and has a power socket for the 2-pin input power connector that is provided to power the ONT140W.

    Never look into the end of a Fiber or into a Fiber connector on a cable or a device. Permanent eye damage or blindness can occur quickly from laser radiation. Electrical Safety Do not open the enclosure unless directed to do so by Tellabs technical ANGER support. Doing so is dangerous and voids the warranty.

    ONT140W Installation and Turnup Guide Preparation Installation Planning The installation must seek to balance user preference with the environmental, power, and cabling requirements of the ONT and any subtending equipment. The following items need to be planned for prior to installing the ONT. Physical Mounting Options The ONT140W is designed to be installed into a wall, similar to how an AC wall outlet is installed.

    ONT140W Installation and Turnup Guide Environmental Requirements The ONT140C operates in temperatures ranging from 32°~104°F (0°~40°C) with non-condensing relative humidity ranging from 5% to 85%. Power Requirements The ONT140C requires 48~56 VDC at up to a maximum of 1.38 amps (at full PoE load).

When unpacking the boxes, check each item against the installation work order and for obvious shipping damage.   • Page 23 ONT140W Installation and Turnup Guide 6. Open the adjustable mounting wings and secure the mounting bracket by tightening the wing screws, once the bracket is inside the wall. 7. If using a dual-gang or single-gang utility box, depicted in Figures A or C, remove one of the conduit plugs from the top of the utility box, as shown in the illustration.

Then, attach the ONT Power Module to the reducer plate, using 2 screws and tighten the screws. Note: If using a deep single-gang utility box, use a reducer plate.

All ONTs that have not been accepted onto the PON will be shown in the dialog and each can be configured and accepted onto the PON.
