    The ISI Serial cards can operate in either 3.3V or 5V computer motherboards. Each ISI4604-UPCI card adds four serial ports to the computer; each ISI4608-UPCI card adds eight serial ports to the computer. As many as four of these ISI cards can be added to a single computer. The...

    ISIxxxxUPCI Quick Start Guide Introduction to ISI Modem Cards The IntelligentSerialInterface card, model ISI5634UPCI-4 is a server modem expansion card with four V.92data/Super G3 fax modems. The ISI5634UPCI-8 is an expansion card with eight such modems. These excellent hardware products add modems to communication servers and async hosts that have 32-bit PCI bus architecture.

It monitors data traffic and controls the modems attached to the ISI460x-PCI card in a computer running either Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2003, Windows XP, or Windows NT version 4.0.

  • Page 12 ISIxxxxUPCI Quick Start Guide 9a. For ISI460x-UPCI only. Attach the fan-out cable to the DB78S female connector on the ISI460x-UPCI card at the back of your computer. The RS232 connectors on the fan-out cable are for connecting to modems, multiplexers or other devices. If the other device is a local terminal port, a crossover cable (not included) is required between the octopus cable and the terminal port.
  • Page 13 Chapter 2—Hardware Installation extends connections for four modems from the RJ-45 plug to four RJ-11 plugs. Each RJ-11 plug should then be attached to a phone line receptacle. Attach the RJ-45 connector into the appropriate RJ45 receptacle on the ISI5634UPCI card. To view a pinout diagram of the ISI5634UPCI Fan-Out Cables, see Appendix A of the User Guide.

    Advanced Server, Windows NT, and Linux. This chapter describes the installation of these drivers. We also describe installation of MultiTech’s Management Software for use with ISI cards under Windows 2000, 2003, XP, and NT. Installing a device driver modifies your system. For this reason, only the super user (system administrator) is allowed to perform the installation.

    7. The Select OEM Option dialog box appears with the Multi-Tech ISIxxxxUPCI software listed. Click OK. The driver files will be copied from the product CD. A transient dialog box will appear indicating the progress of the setup program. 8. The MultiTech ISI Cards Setup dialog box appears. Click Add.

If the version of IIS on your Windows NT4 disk is below version 3.0, then you should upgrade the program from a “Windows NT4.0 Option Pack” CD or other authorized Microsoft source.

Immediately after the Modem Driver Installation wizard has run its course, the Found New Hardware – MultiTech Systems MT5634SMI-V92 screen will appear repeatedly in alteration with the Digital Signature Not Found screen until software associating this modem driver with the appropriate number of ports (4 or 8) on the host computer has been set up on the host computer.
