Reliably ground the switch to protect it from hazards such as lightning shocks, interferences, and ESD discharges. The switch is grounded through the safety wire in the power cords. HPE Aruba Networking recommends an independent grounding connection for the chassis if there is any doubt about the reliability of the grounding through the power mains.

The installation site HVAC system must be capable of removing all heat generated by the switch. Verify that the airflow design of the chassis is compatible with the airflow design of the installation site. Adding or Replacing Line Modules with Controlled Shutdown or Hot Swap Methods HPE Aruba Networking recommends using the CLI to shut down modules before removing them from the switch. This provides a controlled shutdown process that minimizes traffic loss and loss of function. However it also can cause a longer delay in getting the replacement module operational.

Basic Troubleshooting Tips The following situations cause most problems. Check for these items first when starting your troubleshooting: Faulty or loose cables. Look for loose or faulty connections.
