Quick Start Guide
About This Quick Start Guide
This guide is for helping new customers get their Sencore VB-NOMAD product
setup and running as quickly and easily as possible.
Read the Safety Chapter of the User's Manual
The current version of the full User's Manual can be obtained from the Download
tab of individual product pages on our website:

Read the safety chapter of the User's Manual to avoid potential hazards.
A comprehensive Installation Guide is found in section 4.1 of the User's Manual.
Unpack the Equipment
Check that there are no obvious damages to equipment due to transport. If
equipment appears to be damaged, please contact Sencore ProCare for support.
In addition to the VB-NOMAD hardware itself, the shipment should include a
power supply, power cord and a USB cable.

VB-NOMAD is intended for installation in restricted access areas.
Disposal should be handled according to all national laws and
regulations.

Prevent the system from overheating. Do not operate it in an area that
exceeds the maximum ambient temperature of 45 degrees Celsius.
Do not place other objects on top of the VB-NOMAD.
Air needs to flow freely underneath the unit. Check the feet of the unit
are attached.
VB-NOMAD requires short-circuit (overcurrent) protection. Ensure that
the protective device is rated no greater than 120VAC, 15A; 240VAC,
16A.
Observe occupational health and safety rules when handling.
Powering the Unit
Connect the power supply to the mains source and to the probe. Only use the
included power supply and do not use if damaged. The LED should then light up
and the unit will boot. From power-up until access via the management interface,
typically takes 2 minutes.

Initial Configuration
There are 3 alternative ways of performing an initial configuration of NOMAD:
1.
Via the built-in wireless management network
2.
Preconfigured IP address of the probe management port
3.
Via serial console emulated over USB
Note: Settings take effect immediately after applying. For this reason, it is
recommended to check settings carefully before applying, as you may lose
wireless connection to your VB-NOMAD, due to incorrect settings. If this happens
use the wired network interface or a USB serial port as backup.
