Advanced Installation - Volume

This section covers the advanced installation procedure for the volume
license.

Setup.ini - Volume

The setup.ini file provides a method for entering all the values you would
be prompted to enter during a client install so that you only have to type
these values once for multiple client installs. There are also some options
that relate to the deployment that are not presented on the install
screens.
Important information about the setup.ini
1. Be sure to acquire the correct setup.ini for your operating
system. The content of the file is the same for both Mac® and
PC but the file structure (end of line characters) are not
compatible and will not work correctly with the wrong
operating system.
2. Use a non-formatting text editor such as Notepad on the PC and
TextEdit on the Mac® when updating the setup.ini file. Do not
use a word processor such as Microsoft® Word™.
3. Check the setup.ini to make sure all the fields are the same in
your version as shown in this document.
The field and values shown here are accurate with the setup.ini
version at the time this document was written, however, there is
a possibility that a change may be made in the posted setup.ini
before it is reflected in this guide.
If you find different fields and they are not self-explanatory in
the body of the file how to proceed, contact the SSC at
education.ti.com/go/softwarecenter before continuing.
4. For Windows®, the setup.ini must reside in the same directory
as the TI-Nspire™ installer executable. On the Mac® the
setup.ini must reside in the /tmp directory.
5. The content of the setup.ini is the same for volume and
concurrent licenses but there are some differences in the fields
and values used. This section will discuss the correct values for
the volume license.
