Cleaning

How To Clean

To keep the AIT drive in top condition, clean the drive unit as needed using a
cleaning cartridge with the AIT logo. When the drive unit needs cleaning, the
CLEANING REQUEST indicator lights. (For the AITe1040, AITe1040V,
AITe520, AITe520V, AITe390, and AITe390V, use the AITe1040,
AITe1040V, AITe520, AITe520V, AITe390, and AITe390V cleaning
cartridge respectively.)
Use the cleaning cartridge made exclusively for each model.
AITe1040, AITe1040V

Load the cleaning cartridge into the AIT drive.
Cleaning starts automatically.

Cleaning takes about 15 seconds and the cartridge is automatically
ejected when finished. (AITe260, AITe260V, AITe130, AITe130V,
AITe90, AITe90V)
Cleaning takes from a few seconds to a minute for the AITe1040,
AITe1040V, AITe520, AITe520V, AITe390, and AITe390V
cartridge is automatically ejected when finished.

The cleaning time varies depending on the condition of the drive (AITe1040, AITe1040V,
AITe520, AITe520V, AITe390, AITe390V).
Notice
Do not rewind the cleaning cartridge and reuse it. When you reach the end of
the cartridge, dispose it and buy a new cleaning cartridge with the AIT logo.
