Activating the brake lever will cause the caliper to close. If the calipers close accidentally, you will need to force the pads apart using the pad spacer before inserting the brake rotor.
  • Page 23 STEP 12D: REMOVE THE SUPPORT Use the wheel nut and safety washer you removed from the fork brace in step 9. Install the front wheel into the fork. Ensure the rotor is located between the brake pads (A). Slide the safety washers (B), and washers (C) into the fork axle and locate the pin into the hole in front of the dropout, then thread the wheel nuts (D) flush to the dropout.

    USING THE KICKSTAND Using your foot, lower the kickstand until it touches the ground (A). Using the handlebar, roll the bicycle backward (B) so the kickstand rotates under the bicycle and supports the frame with the front wheel resting on the ground (C). To release the kickstand, roll the bicycle forward using the handlebar so the kickstand rotates back under the bicycle and returns to the up position.

    INSTALL THE PEDALS The pedals supplied with your bicycle have red and blue stickers adhered to them. These stickers correspond to matching colored stickers on the crank. The pedals also have “L” and “R” markings embossed on the pedal indicating the left or right pedal. Left Right CAUTION: Make sure to install the pedals correctly.

Pump the tires up to your desired pressure. Refer to the tire’s sidewall for the pressure range. Check your wheel manual or decal on the rim itself to see if your wheels have a maximum pressure limit.

    ADJUST THE SADDLE HEIGHT POWERING ON FOR THE FIRST TIME Your Globe bicycle is fitted with an upper and lower seatpost. The upper seatpost has a quick-release clamp and should be the first to be adjusted. If you've raised the upper seatpost to the maximum and still need a higher height, you can adjust the lower seatpost.
