GETTING STARTED Alarms The ASR-3000 series have a number of protection features. When one of the protection alarms is tripped, the ALM icon on the display will be lit and the type of alarm that has been tripped will be shown on the display. When an alarm has been tripped the output will be automatically turned off.

This alarm function is activated when over DCDC Error output voltage or insufficient voltage and over current occur in DCDC power stage. Contact local dealer or GW Instek directly for repair. GETTING STARTED Considerations The following situations should be taken into consideration when using the power supply. When the power supply switch is first turned Inrush Current on, an inrush current is generated. Ensure there is enough power available for the power supply when first turned on, especially if a number of units are turned on at the same time.

OPERATION How to Use the Instrument The ASR-3000 AC power supplies generally use Background the scroll wheel, Arrow keys, Numerical Keypad and Enter keys to edit numerical values or to select menu options. Menu navigation is performed using the menu keys and function keys on the front panel.

OPERATION Wire Gauge Considerations Before connecting the output terminals to a load, Background the wire gauge of the cables should be considered. It is essential that the current capacity of the load cables is adequate. The rating of the cables must equal or exceed the maximum current rated output of the instrument.

ASR-3000 Series User Manual To minimize noise pickup or radiation, the load wires and remote sense wires should be twisted- pairs of the shortest possible length. Shielding of the sense leads may be necessary in high noise environments. Where shielding is used, connect the shield to the chassis via the rear panel ground screw.
