YOUR BREITLING CHRONOMETER

Overview
Please note that the diagram above is meant for illustrative purposes and might slightly differ from reality.

DATE APERTURE

A chronometer is a high-precision time-keeping instrument that has successfully passed the entire battery of tests imposed by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute), a neutral and independent body which individually tests each movement according to the specifications in force.

  1. Check whether the crown should be unscrewed (counterclockwise) before you carry out the following steps.
  2. If the watch has no date aperture, pull the crown out to position 3. Set the hour and minute hands.
If the watch does have a date aperture, proceed as follows: pull the crown out to position 2. Turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust it to the day before the activation date. Pull the crown out to position 3. Move the hands forwards until the correct date appears at midnight. Set the hour and minute hands.
  3. Push the crown back into position 1. If you had to unscrew the crown in step 1, follow this final step: press the crown gently, turning it clockwise, then tighten it again until you feel some resistance. Do not force it!
