Operation Operating Conditions Do not use the leveling jacks to support the coach while under the coach or changing tires. The hydraulic leveling system is designed only as a leveling system. It is recommended that a trained professional change tires. Attempts to change tires while supporting the coach with the hydraulic system could result in death or serious personal injury, severe product and/or property damage.

November 2012. This manual discusses the Power Gear Automatic Hydraulic Leveling manufactured from January 2012 to the present. Due to various changes in leveling functionality, this manual does not apply and should not be used as a reference to previous versions of the Power Gear Automatic Hydraulic Leveling.

Many variables can change the circumstances of the instructions, i.e., the degree of difficulty, operation and ability of the individual performing the instructions. This manual cannot begin to plot out instructions for every possibility, but provides the general instructions, as necessary, for effectively interfacing with the device, product or system.
Operation Before Operating The leveling system should only be operated under the following conditions: 1. Engine must be running. 2. Coach is parked on a reasonably level surface. 3. Coach parking brake is engaged. 4. Coach transmission is in park for a gas coach or neutral for a diesel coach. Automatic Leveling 1.
Automatic Retraction of Jacks 1. Start the engine. 2. Turn on the system by pressing the “ON/OFF” button (Fig. 2A). The system is now operational and the ON/OFF LED (Fig. 2B) will turn on. 3. Your coach is filled with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) from the factory. In most applications, Type A automatic transmission fluid (ATF, Dexron III, etc.,) will work satisfactorily. Mercon V is also recommended as an alternative fluid for Power Gear hydraulic systems (Fig. 5). Do not use hydraulic oil fluids in conjunction with ATF.
Troubleshooting Locations of breakers, fuses, fuse panels, etc. are coach specific. Consult your coach owner’s manual or the coach manufacturer for locations of these components. The following information will guide you to repairs that may be made on site. For problems not covered here, contact your service center or our website for more extensive troubleshooting information in the service manual.

It will signal that it has completed the process by illuminating the center green Power Gear LEVEL (Fig.1E) light. Check to make sure that all jacks are on the ground. Also check to make sure that no tire is off the ground.
Manual Operation Leveling Coach There are certain conditions where manually leveling your coach may be desirable. Conditions where large amounts of side to side leveling are necessary or when one or more tires are off the ground at the end of the auto-level sequence, it may work better using the manual leveling procedures that follow: Turn on the ignition and start the coach.
In case of a loss of power at the pump assembly, the manual override valves (MOV’s) can be used to retract the leveling jacks. Not all Power Gear leveling system pumps have manual override valves. Power units for double acting systems that have manual override valves have flexible rubber caps on the valves and a hex override nut under the plastic cap on the electric motor.
