  • Page 8 SmartPilot X-10, X-30, X-CAN and X-SOL Service Manual Test procedures Test the Course Computer by carrying out the following tests: 1. Power checks. 2. Rate gyro. 3. Compass 4. Rudder Reference. 5. H Bridge 6. NMEA. 7. EEPROM. Detailed procedures for these tests are given below. If the Course Computer fails any test, return the PCB to Ray- marine and obtain a service exchange unit.
  • Page 9 Chapter 2: Testing & Diagnostics Rate gyro 1. Using a DVM, measure the voltage at the rate gyro output (LTP13). If the rate gyro is serviceable, the nominal reading is 2.5 V ± 0.3 V. 2. With the DVM still connected, turn the Course Computer slowly, first clockwise, then counterclockwise. 3.

If the Fluxgate Compass is changed or moved from its original mounting position, carry out the linearization again before using the Fluxgate Compass.
