Installation: Forward-Facing

Lap-Shoulder Belt Installation

Figure A illustrates a typical forward-facing lap-
shoulder belt installation.
When not in use, always store LATCH connectors in
storage slots. See page 30.
WARNING!
This child seat must not be used
forward-facing for children less than one year
of age OR weighing less than 20 pounds.
IMPORTANT: The child seat is shipped with the buckle
in position 1 (Fig. B). Use buckle position 1, 2, or 3 that is
closest to but not underneath your child. See page 33 for
instructions on moving the buckle.

Place the child seat forward-facing on the
vehicle seat.
WARNING!
Child seat must be in the full
upright position when installed in forward-
facing mode with children over 33 pounds (15 kg.).
IMPORTANT: Britax recommends that the Versa-Tether
times. Using the tether will improve the stability of the child seat and
reduce the risk of injury. Check your vehicle owner's manual for approved
tether anchor locations.

If vehicle is equipped with an approved tether anchor for the
chosen seating position, remove Versa-Tether
place up and over child seat back.

Pull the vehicle belt out and thread it through the forward-
facing belt path (Fig. C).

Verify that the vehicle belt is not twisted and buckle (Fig. D).

Rotate lever downward to open forward-
facing lock-off farthest from where the vehicle
belt is buckled.

Remove slack from the lap portion of the
vehicle belt.

Push the child seat firmly into the vehicle seat

while pulling the shoulder portion of the vehicle
belt tightly through the lock-off (Fig. E).

Hold the shoulder belt tight and rotate lock-off
upward until secured (Fig. F).
If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic locking
retractor (ALR), use of lock-offs is not required as
long as the ALR is locked. Check your vehicle owner's

manual to determine type of retractor your vehicle
has, and how to lock the retractor.

If vehicle is equipped with an approved tether
anchor, attach Versa-Tether
tether anchor. Remove all slack from tether to
secure. Store excess webbing in the tether pouch.

Verify that the vehicle belt is tight and the child
seat is secure. The child seat is secure when it

be used at all

Removal
If connected, disconnect the Versa-Tether
from pouch and

Press the red release button on the vehicle belt buckle and pull the
vehicle buckle from the child seat belt path.
