8. TROUBLESHOOTING
FAULT
The auto darkening filter is
flickering or not darkening
automatically
Darkening is
inconsistent.
The reaction time is
too long.
Poor visibility.
The welding helmet is
slipping.

CAUSE
Low battery.
The front cover lens is dirty.
Dirty arc sensors.
Low welding current.
The distance between
the eyes and the auto
darkening filter is different
for each eye.
The ambient temperature is
too low.
The front cover lens is dirty
or scratched.
The wrong protection level
has been selected.
The protective film has not
been removed.
Headband set incorrectly.
REMEDY
Replace the batteries.
Replace the front cover lens.
Clean the arc sensors.
Use a higher sensitivity
setting.
Check the settings of the
headband.
Only use the helmet within
the specified temperature
range (above -10 °C or 14
°F).
Clean or replace the front
cover lens.
Select the correct protection
level.
Remove the protective film.
Adjust the headband.
