  • Page 3 If the problem cannot be detected and resolved, do not use the auto darkening fi lter. • The Powershield Guardian ECLIPSE is suitable for all common welding procedures except gas and laser beam welding. Using the product for these applications can lead to permanent eye injuries and vision loss.

  • Page 5 Soft pad 2.2 Purpose of use The Powershield Guardian Eclipse is designed to protect the wearer’s eyes from harmful radiation, including visible light, ultraviolet radiation (UV) and infrared radiation (IR) generated by certain arc, plasma and gas welding/cutting procedures when used in accordance with these operating instructions.

  • Page 7 3.2 Function of auto darkening filter 1. Protection level (Fig. B-5) The following ranges are preset: • Grinding mode: Darkening level 3 (cannot be changed) • Cutting mode: Darkening levels 5 to 8 • Welding mode: Darkening levels 9 to 13 2.
  • Page 8 MIX mode consists of 3 periods: 1. Delay from the dark state to the intermediate protection level 2. Increase in the protection level 3. Delay from intermediate protection level to light state. A shorter delay is recommended for fast tack welding, while a longer delay is more suitable for high-current welding.
  • Page 9 GRIND Press and hold the push-button for grinding mode (Fig. C) for 2 seconds to activate grinding mode. The LED (Fig. B-2) flashes green every 3 seconds. Press and hold the push-button for grinding mode for 1 second to deactivate grinding mode.
