Using the wireless adaptor for the first time

When you connect the wireless adaptor to a Windows_® PC or Mac, you can use a DUALSHOCK_®4 wireless controller to control compatible applications. Details on compatible applications can be found at playstation.com/ds4-adaptor.
You must pair the controller to the wireless adaptor when using it for the first time.

1. Make sure the wireless controller is off.
   If the light bar is on, press the (PS) button until it turns off. Disconnect the USB cable if it is connected to the controller.
2. Insert the wireless adaptor into the USB port on your Windows_®PC or Mac device.
   The wireless adaptor's status indicator flashes slowly.
3. Push the wireless adaptor in the direction of the arrow for at least 3 seconds.
   The status indicator flashes rapidly while the adaptor is in pairing mode.
   
4. Press and hold both the SHARE button and (PS) button on the controller for at least 3 seconds.
   The controller's light bar flashes while the controller is in pairing mode. When pairing is complete, both the wireless adaptor's status indicator and the controller's light bar turn a solid colour.

Hints

• Only one controller can be paired with the wireless adaptor.
• The wireless adaptor cannot be used to connect a DUALSHOCK_®4 wireless controller to a PlayStation_®4 system, PlayStation_®Vita system or PlayStation_®TV system.

Using a paired controller

Follow the steps below to use a paired controller with your device. 1 Insert the wireless adaptor into the USB port of your device.
The wireless adaptor's status indicator flashes slowly. 2 Press the (PS) button on the controller.
When the devices are connected, both the wireless adaptor's status indicator and the controller's light bar turn a solid colour.

Hints
If the controller cannot connect to the wireless adaptor, try the following:

• Turn the controller off and try to pair it again with the wireless adaptor (the adaptor might already be paired with another controller).
• Move the controller closer to the adaptor. Make sure there are no physical obstacles that might be blocking communication between them.
• Move nearby Wi-Fi devices such as smartphones or tablets away from the adaptor and controller, or turn them off.

• Do not touch the inside of the USB connector or insert foreign objects.
• Never disassemble or modify the product.

Exterior protection

Follow the instructions below to help prevent the product exterior from deteriorating or becoming discoloured.

• Do not place any rubber or vinyl materials on the product exterior for an extended period of time.
• Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the product. Do not use solvents or other chemicals. Do not wipe with a chemically-treated cleaning cloth.

Storage conditions

• Do not expose the product to high temperatures, high humidity or direct sunlight.
• Do not leave the product in a car with the windows closed, particularly in hot weather.
• Do not expose the product to dust, smoke or steam.
