Treadmill 500 Line | Assembly Guide
Assembly Requirements
Precor recommends at least two (2) people for this installation. DO NOT
attempt assembly by yourself.
Follow the steps in the order listed in this assembly guide. Read full document and:
• Assemble the equipment close to where you plan to use it.
• Assemble the equipment on a solid, flat surface so that it remains level and stable.
• Locate the equipment a minimum 24 inches (0.6 meter) away from walls or furniture
on either side of the equipment, and 79 inches (2 meters) away from objects behind
the treadmill.
• DO NOT move the equipment without assistance.

MPORTANT The treadmill requires a 20-amp individual branch circuit grounded
per NEC (National Electric Code) guidelines or local region electric codes.
Required Tools
Standard hex wrench set with bits
#2 Philips screwdriver
Fish tape
Torque wrench 75 ft-lb (100 N-m)
Hardware Kit

Button head cap screw (BHCS) 3/8-inch x 0.9-inch
Washer, tooth 3/8-inch
Philips pan head screw, 1/4-inch x 3/4-inch
Philips pan head screw, #10 x 1/2-inch (black)
Socket head cap screw (SHCS) 1/4-inch x 1/2-inch
Assembly Instructions
WARNING
Do NOT connect electrical power until all assembly procedures are complete
and the console is properly installed.
1. Route cable and attach upright supports

Locate the data cable that is bundled and attached to the treadmill.
For touchscreen consoles only: remove the necessary cables from the console installation kit.
Group together with proper connection ends for console (refer to installation kit guide and
console install guide) and secure together at both ends so they can easily be routed. Fish tape is
recommended.

Lay out the left and right upright supports on the treadmill. Have your assistant hold the dash
assembly nearby (Figure 2).
3.
Route the data cable through the opening in the support base and up the right upright support.
Continue to feed the cable through the dash assembly so that it come out through the center of
the console support (Figure 2).
For touchscreen consoles only: route the cables for the console through the opening in the
support base and up the left upright support. Continue to feed the cables through the dash
assembly so that they come out through the center of the console support (Figure 2).

Carefully lift the upright supports on
to the support bases and have your
assistant move the dash assembly with
the movement. DO NOT PINCH any cables.
Secure each support at the base with 3
3/8-inch BHCS and 3
3/8-inch tooth
washers (Figure 3). Hand-tighten.

Have your assistant carefully set the dash
assembly onto the upright supports. DO
NOT PINCH any cables and ensure cable
ends do not slide into frame. Secure
each side with 3
3/8-inch BHCS and
3
3/8-inch tooth washers (Figure 3).
Hand-tighten.
6.
Torque all screws to 31 ft-lb (42 N-m).
2. Touchscreen console preparation
(For LED consoles, skip to section 3. Install treadmill hood and covers)
Attach filter to drive power cable
1.
Disconnect the existing power cable from the
drive unit, power filter, and ground terminal.
Completely remove it from the treadmill (Figure
5).
2.
Connect the new power cable for the
touchscreen console according to Table 1 and
Figure 6.
