4 Electrical Installation Using the diagram below as a guide: Connect the AC cable to the corresponding position of the circuit breaker. Connect the RS485 cable of the inverter (daisy chain) to the 4/5/6 terminal block. NOTE: The FlexOM Gateway uses a two-wire Modbus RS485 multipoint serial line system.
  • Page 21: Ct Selection

5 CT Selection The FlexOM Meter and FlexOM-4G Meter include a WattNode WND-WR-MB meter. To ensure the correct CTs are selected for the specific project application, the following guidelines are recommended: • The current transducer / transformers can be purchased from Continental Control Systems, LLC or from any other third- party CT vendor.
  • Page 22: Using The Cps Connect Pro App

No Wi-Fi dongle is required to interface or activate the FlexOM Gateway. The gateway will connect to the Internet via Ethernet or 4G, and the gateway will connect to the CPS Connect Pro app via Bluetooth. Open the CPS Connect Pro app.
  • Page 23 Select the gateway device matching the gateway SN.
  • Page 24 Check that the gateway status is Online. During the activation process, the gateway will attempt to connect to the Internet via Ethernet or 4G, depending on the model, after it turns on. If the status is displayed as Online, the gateway is connected to the target server and FlexOM portal.
  • Page 25 To manually adjust the connection settings: Tap Internet Settings. The Ethernet default setting is DHCP; this can be disabled to manually enter the Ethernet IP information if necessary. To do so, tap Ethernet in the Internet Settings Interface to access the Ethernet settings. Tap Save to save any changes made.
  • Page 26: Scan Modbus Devices

Scan Modbus Devices To scan devices in the connected daisy chain, tap Device Settings. The gateway is configured with a default Modbus ID range of 1-32. To manually edit the Modbus ID range: Tap More to go to Settings.
  • Page 27 Tap Comm-ID Discovery Range. The existing Modbus ID must be deleted by tapping the minus sign button ( - ) before a new ID can be assigned.
  • Page 28 A unique Modbus ID must be assigned to each inverter. After all Modbus devices have been found and identified, tap Save in the upper right corner. After scanning, a device list will appear with the default ID. The user can either rescan the target IDs individually in the list, or scan the daisy chain in full.
  • Page 29: Complete Activation

Complete Activation After configuring the Modbus settings, users can enter the site name, gateway name, country, and time zone. Tap Save to save this site information and complete the installation process.
  • Page 30: Recovery / Reboot

Ensure that the RS485 cable is wired correctly. If the RS485 length is longer than 3281 ft (1000 m), ensure the dip switch in the last inverter is turned ON. Scan again, and if still no devices appear, contact CPS Customer Service.
