RS485 cable to the AUX port to enable the equivalent of a direct transmission with the daisy chain. The gateway within the FlexOM Meter can be used as a Modbus / TCP server to connect to an optional third-party SCADA system (supplied by others) and to forward various commands to the daisy chain.
AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks. The standard 4G cellular data plan period is five (5) years. After five years, the customer will be locked out of their account and must contact CPS to purchase an additional five years of portal access.
AC current-sending cables, and communication cables. DANGER: High voltage can cause electric shock and serious injuries during FlexOM Meter operation. Do NOT touch components such as AC cables, circuit breakers, and connectors while the meter is energized. Required Tools and Materials Ensure that the FlexOM Meter accessory kit includes the following items: •...
Installation Methods NOTICE: The two diagrams shown below demonstrate the recommended installation method; the materials shown in these figures must be prepared by the installer. NOTE: Tighten M8 hardware to 24 in-lb (2.71 N⋅m) when installing.

4G Cellular Antenna Installation (FlexOM-4G Only) 3.4.1 FlexOM-4G Accessory Kit In addition to the standard accessories, the FlexOM-4G Meter accessory kit includes: • One (1) IP65 4G cellular antenna • One (1) antenna coaxial cable (3 m) • One (1) cable gland •...
3.4.2 Installation Instructions Screw one end of the antenna cable into the cable connector of the gateway (applicable to FlexOM-4G model only). Pass the SMA end of the coaxial antenna cable through the disassembled cable gland parts in sequence (see numbering in diagram), then tighten the cable glands again.
4 Electrical Installation Using the diagram below as a guide: Connect the AC cable to the corresponding position of the circuit breaker. Connect the RS485 cable of the inverter (daisy chain) to the 4/5/6 terminal block. NOTE: The FlexOM Gateway uses a two-wire Modbus RS485 multipoint serial line system.
5 CT Selection The FlexOM Meter and FlexOM-4G Meter include a WattNode WND-WR-MB meter. To ensure the correct CTs are selected for the specific project application, the following guidelines are recommended: • The current transducer / transformers can be purchased from Continental Control Systems, LLC or from any other third- party CT vendor.
No Wi-Fi dongle is required to interface or activate the FlexOM Gateway. The gateway will connect to the Internet via Ethernet or 4G, and the gateway will connect to the CPS Connect Pro app via Bluetooth. Open the CPS Connect Pro app.

Select the gateway device matching the gateway SN.
Page 24
Check that the gateway status is Online. During the activation process, the gateway will attempt to connect to the Internet via Ethernet or 4G, depending on the model, after it turns on. If the status is displayed as Online, the gateway is connected to the target server and FlexOM portal.

To manually adjust the connection settings: Tap Internet Settings. The Ethernet default setting is DHCP; this can be disabled to manually enter the Ethernet IP information if necessary. To do so, tap Ethernet in the Internet Settings Interface to access the Ethernet settings. Tap Save to save any changes made.
Scan Modbus Devices To scan devices in the connected daisy chain, tap Device Settings. The gateway is configured with a default Modbus ID range of 1-32. To manually edit the Modbus ID range: Tap More to go to Settings.
Page 27
Tap Comm-ID Discovery Range. The existing Modbus ID must be deleted by tapping the minus sign button ( - ) before a new ID can be assigned.
Page 28
A unique Modbus ID must be assigned to each inverter. After all Modbus devices have been found and identified, tap Save in the upper right corner. After scanning, a device list will appear with the default ID. The user can either rescan the target IDs individually in the list, or scan the daisy chain in full.
Complete Activation After configuring the Modbus settings, users can enter the site name, gateway name, country, and time zone. Tap Save to save this site information and complete the installation process.
Ensure that the RS485 cable is wired correctly. If the RS485 length is longer than 3281 ft (1000 m), ensure the dip switch in the last inverter is turned ON. Scan again, and if still no devices appear, contact CPS Customer Service.
The warranty policy of this product is specified in the contract; otherwise, the standard warranty is two (2) years. For warranty terms, refer to the CPS America accessories warranty policy in place at time of purchase. If your product requires further troubleshooting or warranty service, contact your installer or dealer. If you are unable to contact your installer or dealer, or they are unable to provide service, contact CPS Customer Service.
