Cutting mode (protection level 5–8) / Welding mode (protection level 9–13): Delay 0–10
(see Fig. 5a/5b)
Grinding mode: no sensitivity adjustment
The delay is particularly useful for avoiding bright afterglows that occur in applications
with higher currents, where the weld pool remains bright for a short time after welding.
Use the lens delay push-buttons to set the delay from 0 to 10 (0.1 to 1.0 seconds). Once
the welding task is complete, the viewing window automatically reverts from dark to light,
but with a preset delay to compensate for any bright afterglow of the workpiece. The delay/
reaction time can be set between levels 0 and 10. It is recommended to use a shorter
delay for spot welding applications and a longer delay for applications with higher currents.
Longer delays can also be used for TIG welding at low currents and TIG/MIG/MAG pulse.
ADJUSTING THE FIT OF THE HELMET
The total circumference of the headband can be increased or decreased by turning the dial
on the back of the headband (see setting "V" in Fig. 6). This can be done while wearing the
helmet and allows you to set just the right amount of tension so that the helmet fits firmly
on your head without being too tight.
• If the headband sits too high or too low on your head, adjust the strap that runs over
the top of your head. To do this, release the end of the strap by pushing the locking pin
out of the hole in the strap. Push together or pull apart the two parts of the strap to
decrease or increase the width as required, then push the locking pin through the
nearest hole (see setting "W" in Fig. 6).
• The front and rear straps automatically adjust to the shape of the head, and the soft
padding is perfectly fitted to the forehead and back of the head for greater comfort (see
Fig. 7a). Test the fit of the headband by lifting and closing the helmet a few times while
wearing it. If the headband moves when you tilt your head, readjust it until it fits securely.
