  • Page 7: Foundation

FOUNDATION An outdoor sauna can weigh up to 600 kg once assembled, so it requires a strong, stable foun- dation. This should be a flat, level surface that can support the full weight of the sauna and its occupants. We recommend using a concrete slab or a pile foundation. Avoid placing the sauna on surfaces that could degrade the timber, such as soil or grass.

  • Page 9 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT STEP - LEVEL & SQUARING THE FRAME 3. Position the under supports on a level surface and lay out the first slat. Once in position take a measuring tape and measure from so that AD=BC. Ensuring the platform is level and square is crucial before proceeding.
  • Page 10 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 5. Position the first 8 slats on each side up to L07 and R07, then insert 4 screws as shown in the illustration below. Ensure the under supports are still square at this stage. 5. The front and rear panels can now be fitted into the grooves of the slats. To temporarily se- cure them, use the top slat as demonstrated below.
  • Page 11 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 6. Continue with slats numbered L8 to L23 and R8 to R23. Ensure each slat is placed tightly next to the prior slat - this will ensure optimum insulation. Remove the top slat at this point. 7. Continue with the remainder of the slats until the top of the barrel. You can remove the cross screws from the top slat to help identify the correct size slat for the top.
  • Page 12 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 8. After all the slats are in place, wrap the three stainless steel bands around the top and bot- tom of the barrel sauna. Note: the end connections should sit on the lower half of the barrel to allow the roof tiles to sit flush.

  • Page 15 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Wiring schematic - Cables for Lighting and Heater. SAUNA LIGHTING The sauna light is powered directly by the heater, and if wired according to the Harvia diagram, it will turn on and off as the heater cycles. This is intentional so that when the light is on, you know the sauna is active.
  • Page 16 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 13. The two flared lengths provided are used to create a flared edge on the bottom row of tiles (midway on the barrel) to help direct water away from the bottom half of the barrel. These should be installed beneath the waterproofing and secured with screws during this step. 14.
  • Page 17 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Start with the left side and complete the pattern until L-ROW 10. Then switch to the right side and complete the pattern until R-ROW 10. Silicon along the top edges (2.5cm rec) of the ROW 10 piec- es. Complete the shingles by lapping R-ROW 11 over top of the gap and silicon to help with water proofing.
  • Page 18: Front And Back Edge

FRONT AND BACK EDGE To prevent moisture and rainwater from accumulating on the front and back edges of the sauna, we recom- mend applying a bead of silicone where the front and back panels meet the timber slats, starting halfway up the barrel and continuing around to the other side.
  • Page 19: Accessories And General Information

ACCESSORIES AND GENERAL INFORMATION We recommend placing the provided thermometer at head height on either wall of the sauna, ensuring it is not positioned directly above the heater. Since heat rises, you will notice that the temperature varies throughout the sauna—hotter at the top and cooler at the bottom. However, with proper heat-up time and effective use of steam, the heat will distribute more evenly through- out the sauna You can place the sand timer anywhere in the sauna, except directly above the heater.

    2. Before using the stones for the first time, rinse them with clean water to remove any dust. Simply place the stones in a bucket or tub, cover them with water, and stir to dislodge any loose material. 3. When adding stones to the heater, place them gently—avoid tipping, throwing, or dropping them, and do not wedge them into the heating elements, as this can damage the heater and void your warranty.
  • Page 21: Oiling

OILING To ensure longevity and uphold your sauna’s warranty, it’s essential to regularly treat all external wooden surfaces (except beneath the tiles) with a UV-protectant timber oil to safeguard against the harsh Australian climate. As a natural wood product, the timber requires re-oiling every 3-6 months, depending on its location and exposure to sunlight.
  • Page 22: Cleaning And Use

CLEANING AND USE When using the sauna, it’s a good practice to place towels on both the seat and the floor beneath you. This helps maintain cleanliness and protects the timber from sweat-related damage. For cleaning, we recommend using a cloth dampened with a mild vinegar and water solution. Ad- ditionally, we strongly advise regularly removing the floor panel to clean the bottom of the barrel, as dirt and moisture can accumulate over time.
  • Page 23: Maintenance And Cleaning Schedule

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING SCHEDULE AFTER EVERY USE: Wipe down all excess moisture and sweat with a dry cloth or towel Remove all damp items from the sauna (Towels, sauna hats, robes, bucket & ladle etc) Bake & Breathe method MONTHLY: Wipe down all surfaces thoroughly.
