Basic operation
Note Before operating the camera, you must read, understand, and follow the warnings
and cautions in section 1 Safety information.
6.1 Charge the camera
CAUTION
When you connect the power supply to a mains socket, select a socket that is easy to access. Should a
hazardous situation occur, you must be able to easily disconnect the power supply.
Note It is good practice to disconnect the power supply from the mains socket when
not in use.
To charge the camera:
1. Connect the power supply to a wall outlet.
2. Connect the power supply to the charging port of the FLIR Scout Pro camera.
6.2 Power on/off
6.2.1 Power on
To power on the FLIR Scout Pro camera, press the Power button for 1 second.
6.2.2 Power off
To power off the FLIR Scout Pro camera, press and hold the Power button until the
screen turns off.
6.2.3 Inactivity
After 30 minutes of inactivity the camera goes into sleep mode. Interaction will stop the
camera from going into sleep mode.
6.2.4 Standby
A short press of the Power button puts the camera in standby mode.
6.2.5 Reset
To reset the camera, press and hold the Power button and the Option button at the same
time for 5 seconds.
6.3 Capture an image or video
• A short press of the Trigger button captures an image. A thumbnail image is displayed
for a saved image.
• A long press of the Trigger button starts the video recording. The video recording is in-
dicated with a red dot and elapsed time.
• Press the Trigger button to stop the video recording.
6.4 Save an image or video
The images and videos are saved on the FLIR Scout Pro camera.
Captured images and videos can be viewed in the FLIR Scout Pro app.
