Diskette Drive

1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 4.2).
2. Remove the computer cover (Section 4.6).
3. Remove the 5.25-inch drive (Section 4.8.1).
4. Disconnect the power and data cables from the back of the drive
5. Pull the drive release latch away from the drive
6. Lift the drive from the drive cage by first pulling the drive toward the back of the

cage , then lifting the drive up and out of the drive cage

The guide screws on the sides of the drive must be guided along the J-slots to
remove the drive from the drive cage.
To replace the drive, reverse the removal procedures.

When replacing the drive, transfer the four screws from the old drive to the new
one. The screws take the place of drive rails.
CAUTION: When servicing the computer, ensure that cables are placed in their proper locations
during the reassembly process. Improper cable placement can damage the computer.
