- Page 6 STEP 3b: Install the extension spindles. X ≥ 0 mm 2 mm Cut the extension spindles so that they extend ⅛" (2 mm) outside the surface of the finished wall. Remove the plug from the thermostatic mixer insert using a 17 mm wrench. Remove the insert using 27 mm wrench.
