    CPU Socket The LGA1851 socket is the CPU socket that is designed for Intel® desktop processors. It is a land grid array (LGA) socket with 1851 pins. The socket is not compatible with previous generations of Intel® processors. Installing the CPU to the LGA1851 socket The surface of the LGA1851 CPU has two notches to assist in correctly lining up the CPU for motherboard placement.
