2 Product description 2.1 General The APEX HES-W3/02 is a battery operated limit switch for the detection of the hoist limit condition, e.g. on the lifting rope of a crane. The wireless module with integrated battery compartment serves recognition and the wireless transmission of the hoist limit condition to suitable wireless receivers.
Product description 2.3 Use for the intended purpose The APEX HES-W3/02 is a wireless sensor and serves the detection and wireless transmission of the hoist limit condition. Typical area of application is the hoist limit detection for the hoisting gear on cranes.
Installation 3 Installation The APEX HES-W3/02 hoist limit switch is supplied complete with mounting accessories: hoist limit switch weight, antenna and a battery. Installation can therefore be performed simply and quickly. The hoist switch is intended to use on the point of the boom or alternatively on a boom extension.
If the mounting place is not easy to access, you should only mount the wireless sensor after commissioning and establishment of the radio link! In order to mount the APEX HES-W3/02 it is pushed onto the mounting bolt and secured with a cot- ter pin: 3.3 Mounting the hoist switch weight...
Finally, check the free movement of the weight and the function of the hoist limit switch. 3.4 Mounting the antenna An angled antenna is included in the scope of supply of the APEX HES-W3/02. If not already mounted, screw the antenna hand-tight onto the antenna socket on the top of the de- vice.
The pairing mode is signalized by a yellow LED: Once a link is established the yellow LED will turn off, and the APEX HES-W3/02 will be sending its state to the parent receiver.
The APEX HES-W3/01 will go operational immediately after inserting the battery. In a default con- figuration the device is in energy saving mode unless it connects to its assigned active receiver. When a link is established between the APEX HES-W3/02 it will start updating its status. 5.1 Pairing button and LED Pressing the pairing button for 5s will start the pairing process.
