1. Place a pan on the burner grate. (To
preservethe gratefinish, do not operate
the burnerswithouta pan on the grateto
absorbthe heatfrom the burnerflame.)
2. Pushin knoband turnimmediately coun-
terclockwiseto the LITE setting.
>A clicking(spark)soundwill be heard
and the burnerwill light. (All ignitors
will spark whenany surface burner
knob is turnedon. However,only
the selectedburnerwill light.)
3. Turn knobto desired setting.
4. Do not leavecooktopunattended.

Uses
Use HI to bring liquid to a boil, or reachpressurein a pressure
cooker.Alwaysreducesettingto a lowerheatwhenliquidsbegin
to boil or foods begin to cook.
An intermediateflame size is usedto continuecooking.Food
will not cook anyfaster whena higherflame settingis used
than neededto maintaina gentleboil. Water boils atthe same
temperaturewhetherboiling gently or vigorously.
