Champ hazardous location intelligent luminaires are suitable for use
in the hazardous (classified) areas. Refer to the luminaire nameplate
for specific classification information, maximum ambient temperature
suitability and corresponding operating temperature (T-code).

WARNING
To avoid electric shock:
Be certain electrical power is OFF before and during installation and
maintenance.
Luminaire must be supplied by a wiring system with an equipment
grounding conductor.
To avoid burning hands:
Make sure lens and housing are cool when performing
maintenance.
To avoid explosion:
Make sure the supply voltage is the same as the luminaire voltage.
Do not install where the marked operating temperatures exceed the ignition temperature of the hazardous atmosphere.
Do not operate in ambient temperatures above those indicated on the luminaire nameplate.
Use proper supply wiring as specified on the luminaire nameplate.
All gasket seals must be clean and undamaged.
Before opening , electrical power to the luminaire must be turned off. Keep tightly closed when in operation.
To reduce the risk of ignition due to electrostatic discharge, avoid contact with the luminaire while explosive atmosphere is present. Clean
only with damp cloth.
Do not open when an explosive atmosphere is present.
Circuits must be wired per the enclosed wiring diagram to ensure safety of the equipment.
Occupancy Sensor for VMVL luminaires with suffix SS12-M3 is intrinsically safe Ex ia, when powered by Barrier Board Assembly as
connected when shipped. For replacement or installation of the Occupancy Sensor and Barrier Board Assembly of Model NHZS-SS12 KIT in
the field, follow installation instructions stated in IF 1983. Substitution of components may impair intrinsic safety.

Luminaire construction is designed for use in indoors and outdoors of
harsh environments, marine and wet locations, where moisture, dirt,
corrosion, vibration and rough usage may be present.

Utiliser des fils d'alimentation conformes à la plaque signalétique du luminaire.
Tous les joints d'étanchéité doivent être propres et en bon état.
Avant l'ouverture, l'alimentation électrique du luminaire doit être coupée. Le luminaire doit être bien fermé lorsqu'il est sous tension.
Pour réduire le risque d'allumage à cause d'une décharge électrostatique, éviter tout contact avec le luminaire dans un environnement
explosif. Nettoyer seulement avec un chiffon humide.
Ne pas ouvrir dans un environnement explosif.
Les circuits doivent être câblés selon le schéma de câblage fourni pour assurer la sécurité de l'équipement.
Le capteur de présence pour les luminaires VMVL avec le suffixe SS12-M3 est intrinsèquement sécuritaire, S.I., Ex ia, lorsqu'il est alimenté
par l'ensemble de carton barrière comme connecté lorsqu'il est expédié. Pour le remplacement ou l'installation du capteur de présence et
de l'assemblage de carton barrière de la trousse NHZS-SS12 sur le terrain, suivez les instructions d'installation énoncées dans IF 1983. La
substitution des composants peut nuire à la sécurité intrinsèque.
INSTALLATION
MOUNTING:
Mount the cover module in its support position.
1. Ceiling and wall mount: mark and drill desired location on mounting
surface. Secure with 1/4" (6mm) bolts or lag screws (not provided).
2. Pendant, angled, stanchion mount: Securely thread onto the
appropriate NPT size conduit. Tighten set screw located in the
conduit hub. (See figure 1).
3. Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series HTL thread lubricant must be added to
the conduit threads to prevent water from entering the luminaire.
