BEFORE YOU START: WALL CUPS Nobody wants to make holes in their walls. At Qdos we do our best to minimize the impact of installation, but our main priority, which we hope you share, is to protect your children. All baby gates will make some kind of mark after being used and anybody saying the opposite is simply not telling the truth.

STEP 3: Prepare the Top Spindles by spinning the Adjustment Wheels until they rest against the head of the Spindles. Repeat with the nuts on the Bottom Spindles, or if you’re installing over Quarter Round, move the nuts from the Bottom Spindles to the Quarter Round Spindles and spin the nuts until they rest against the head of the Spindles.

TIP: Its easier to complete the next steps if you have a helper, one person to hold the gate in place while the other person installs. Alternatively, if there is room to lay the gate down, position it with the Bottom Spindles in place where you want them to be installed. IMPORTANT: THE BOTTOM CROSS BAR MUST BE INSTALLED FLAT ON THE FLOOR.

STEP 8: Move the gate back into installation position, making sure the spaces on both sides are even. Use a tape measure to measure the gap between the gate frame, or extension, to the installation surface. If the gap is more than 2.75” (7 cm), the gap is too wide, and another extension needs to be added.

STEP 12: While alternating between sides, adjust the tension with the Adjustment Wheels until the distance between the handle and the gate is 1/8” (3mm). When looking from the top, the red line on the locking tab should not be visible. Now, remove the zip-tie holding the handle to the frame.
OPTIONAL ONE-WAY STOP OPTIONAL STEP 14: If you only want the door to open in one direction, the optional One-Way Stop can be installed. Use the Allen Wrenches to remove the socket screw and barrel nut closest to the At-A-Glance Indicator on the handle. There is a One-Way Stop for each side depending on which way you want to restrict the gate from opening.

Zero-Screw Furniture Anti-Tip Kit According to CPSC, tipped furniture or a falling TV sends an injured child to the ER about every 30 minutes. Qdos developed the first of its kind patent pending Furniture Anti-Tip Kit that can be installed completely without screws, yet it still holds up to 200 lbs.
