    Phillips head screwdriver. ⚫ At least one 3.5 inch SATA / SAS hard disk. (For a list of compatible hard disks, please see http://www.asustor.com/service/hd?id=hd) Hard Disk Installation 1. Using the latch, gently pull the disk tray out of the disk bay.
  • Page 8 4. Slide the disk tray onto the rails of the disk bay. Using the latch, gently push the disk tray all the way into the disk bay. Secure the disk tray in place by pushing down on the latch. The latch should close easily and snap in with an audible ‘click’.

    Installing Rail Kit Take out the two rail assemblies. Fully extend the rail assembly by pulling it outward. Mount the inner rails to the system chassis using the provided mounting screws.
  • Page 10 Mount the outer rail assembly to your rack. Please note that both the front and back of the outer rail assembly will need to be fastened to the rack with two screws. Note: This sliding rail is compatible with racks with a depth of 67.31 cm or 26.5” to 92.46 cm or 36.4”. Align the rails and push the system chassis all the way into the rack.

    Please note: • The fans may initially run louder after powering on. This is normal. All fans will spin down after booting up. • If power interrupted and then restored, the AX7012R will automatically power on within approximately 45 seconds.

    Shutting Down Your Device When performing setup or maintenance on the machine, follow these steps to ensure the system is powered down: Press and hold the power button. The status light will blink. Continue holding the power button until the blue light stops blinking and turns off. Then release the power button. The shutdown process will begin and the system will power off within ten seconds.
