ASUSTOR NAS M.2 SSD Drive Installation Guide 2. Installation Guide 2.1. Removing the Cover ⚫ Shutdown the NAS by selecting [Shut down] from the ADM User Menu. ⚫ Disconnect all cables and devices connected to the NAS including the power cord.

ASUSTOR NAS M.2 SSD Drive Installation Guide ⚫ Use a screwdriver to loosen the three screws found on the rear of the NAS as shown in the illustration. AS5402T AS5404T ⚫ Grip the cover from both sides with two hands and then gently push it back to remove it from the chassis.

ASUSTOR NAS M.2 SSD Drive Installation Guide 2.2. Installing M.2 SSD Drives ⚫ For the best possible experience, install SSDs in the order as shown in the pictures below. AS5402T AS5404T ⚫ Insert M.2 SSD at an angle, align the notch with the connector and insert the M.2 drive. Ensure M.2 SSD is fully inserted, hold plastic lever and press down on the M.2 SSD until it clips into the slot.

Replacing the Cover ⚫ Replace the cover and tighten the three screws that were removed previously. AS5402T AS5404T ⚫ Reconnect all cables including the power cord and then start up the NAS.

If your NAS still does not operate normally, please remove the newly installed M.2 SSD Drive module, and then restart the NAS to see if it is able to operate normally.
