Additional parts
For a proper installation of your linear motor system you also need:
■
an appropriate servo controller/amplifier to drive the motor;
■
a ruler and a linear encoder to determine the motor position with
high accuracy;

All these features are not a part of Tecnotion's standard delivery.
A digital Hall module for commutation can be used as cost effective
alternative to a separate encoder system when positioning require-
ments are not too strict. These products can be supplied by Tecnotion,
information on these products can be found in Chapter 5. Analog Hall
modules are not available for ironless motors.
In order to mount the coil units and magnet yokes, bolts and (option-
ally) dowel pins are required. Information regarding these parts can
be found in Chapter 4.
power supply, cabling and connectors;
an Allen key set to install the products;
fixing components like bolts and dowel pins;
a bearing system.
dampers to prevent uncontrolled runout from the track;
a mechanical brake, especially in vertical applications;
heat sink compound for better heat transfer from the motor to
the heat sink;
isopropanol wipes to clean mounting surfaces.
For installation, use non-ferro magnetic tools to prevent damaging
the magnet yokes.
