Possible Cause
The RIT LED goes out even
though you did not depress the
RIT ON/OFF switch to turn it
OFF.
Тһе RIT is automatically turned OFF when
the Tuning Knob is rotated unless the
interior RIT contro! switch is in the OFF
position.
The Power switch has been turned OFF.
Solution
You may change the unit so that the automatic
БІТ OFF function does not operate when you
rotate the Tuning knob. (See page 15.)
Depress the RIT ON/OFF switch again to turn
on the RIT.
The frequency does not change
by rotating the Tuning knob.
DIAL LOCK is engaged.
Disengage the DIAL LOCK by pressing the DIAL
LOCK button.
An abnormal figure is displayed
on the frequency display or
fails to illuminate.
The Power switch was turned OFF and ON
too quickly.
An unusual amount of distor-
tion and/or noise in the trans-
mit signal.
The MIC GAIN is too high when the RF
Speech Processor is ON.
Unable to key when using an
electronic keyer.
іп the AM mode there is no
modulation.
When the set has been tuned
to a frequency other than
7.100MHz Ham, or 15.0000
MHz General Coverage, and
the set goes to one of those
frequencies when turned ON.
The Switching circuit of the electronic keyer
does not close completely.
Polarity of the connection wires from the
keyer is reversed.
The MODE is not set to CW or CW-N.
Mic Gain is too low.
Mic connector
inoperable.

Memory Backup is not connected to a
power supply, or Memory Backup Power
Supply has failed.
Turn the Power switch OFF, wait 30 seconds, and
then turn it ON again.
While watching the meter in the ALC mode, turn
the MIC GAIN control counterclockwise so that
the meter is within marked zone at the voice peak.
Replace the keyer with one having a voltage of less
than 0.4V between the two keying lines at the key
down position, or modify your keyer so that the
voltage is less than 0.4 Volts.
Connect the keyer wires observing proper polarity.
Set the MODE to CW or CW-N.
Adjust the Mic Gain clockwise.
Check and tighten mic connections, replace mic if
necessary.
Check Memory Backup Power Supply for loose
connections, or faults.
