Assembly
- Insert handle into machine until it clicks into place.

- Align clean water tank with machine grooves and press downward into place.

- Wrap cord around upper and lower cord wrap.
Filling the Clean Water Tank
This machine is compatible with BISSELL® formulas made for upright carpet cleaners. Always use genuine BISSELL formulas for your machine. Our formulas are specially designed in our lab to work with your machine and deliver professional-style results. Other formulas may harm the machine.

- Lift tank to remove from machine.
- Unscrew yellow cap.

- Add warm tap water (140°F/60°C max) to water fill line. Do not use boiling water. Do not heat water in microwave.

- Add BISSELL formula to formula fill line.

- Screw cap back onto tank. Align clean water tank with machine grooves and press downward into place.
- Add warm tap water (140°F/60°C max) to water fill line. Do not use boiling water. Do not heat water in microwave.
- Twist yellow cap back onto tank.

- Firmly insert formula bottle into cap on tank and squeeze until formula reaches formula fill line.

Cleaning Carpets and Area Rugs
Tips Before Cleaning
- Remove any solids and use a dry vacuum cleaner over area before using your deep cleaner.
- To prevent damage to Berber carpets, avoid repeated strokes in same area. Before cleaning area rugs, check manufacturer's tag and test an inconspicuous spot on rug for colorfastness. Do not use on silk or delicate rugs.
- It is common to refill the clean water tank and empty dirty water tank multiple times during cleaning. Room size and cleaning speed both affect how often tank may need to be refilled and/ or emptied.
- When solution is flowing, bubbles will form at the edges of the nozzle. Holding the trigger continuously may result in overwetting your carpet.
- Plug into a properly grounded outlet. Press power button on handle to turn machine ON.
- Press recline pedal to recline machine.
- Hold spray trigger for 10 seconds to prime system with cleaning solution.
- Make cleaning passes following steps below. Repeat these passes until solution being pulled up appears clean.
With Cleaning Formula
- Hold Spray Trigger
- 1 pass forward
- 1 pass back
- Release the Spray Trigger
- 1 pass forward
- 1 pass back
With BISSELL ANTIBACTERIAL Formula
- Hold Spray Trigger
- 1 pass forward
- 1 pass back
- 1 pass forward
- 1 pas s back
For full benefit of ANTIBACTERIAL formula, do not make any dry passes. Dry time may be longer.
- When finished, turn machine OFF.
Emptying the Dirty Water Tank
- Turn OFF and unplug machine. Pull dirty water tank up and away to remove.
- For quick empty: Pull rubber tab (located in middle of tank) and tilt to pour. When closing rubber tab, make sure all edges are sealed tight.
- Reinstall tank by angling it with bottom first, then tilt and push until it clicks into place.
After-Cleaning Care
- Turn OFF and unplug machine. Pull dirty water tank up and away to remove.
- Empty dirty water tank.
- Unscrew ring at bottom of tank to remove float stack.
- Clean and rinse debris from float to prevent dirty water tank overflow and maintain seal integrity.

- After cleaning, align arrow on float with tank's notch. Twist ring to lock in place. Ensure alignment to prevent water leakage.

- Pull the nozzle upward and away from the machine. Rinse or wipe it clean.
- Use a cloth to remove debris from the red filter.

- Use a cloth to thoroughly clean brush roll cover.
- Reinstall nozzle, ensuring it aligns with slot on brush roll cover.
- Use both hands to push top of nozzle, both left and right sides, until it clicks into place.
- Reinstall tank by angling it with bottom first, then tilt and push until it clicks into place.

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury, turn power OFF and disconnect plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting.
Replacing the Belt & Brush Roll
- Turn OFF and unplug machine. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove 5 screws.
- Remove belt cover.
- Pull brush roll out and remove belt from track.
- Pull belt off of motor shaft.
- Wrap new belt around motor shaft.
- Put belt on brush roll track. Put brush roll back into position.
- Align brush roll mount to screw posts.
- Reposition belt cover.
- Reinstall 5 screws.
Note: Any other maintenance or servicing not included in this manual should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause | Remedies |
Reduced spray OR no spray | Clean water tank may be empty. | Refill tank. |
Clean water tank may not be seated completely. | Turn power off. Remove and reseat tank. |
Pump may have lost prime in hose cleaning mode. | Hold end of hose below water level in tank to prime. |
No spray through hose & tool | The hose to machine is not primed. | Turn off and unplug the machine. Remove nozzle from foot. Insert pen in black cylinder next to screw. Wait for water bubbles, remove pen. Reassemble nozzle and hose. |
Loss of suction power | Tanks may not be seated properly. | Reseat both tanks so they fit properly. |
Dirty water tank is full. | Empty dirty water tank. |
Rubber tab on dirty water tank is not sealed tight. | Check rubber tab on dirty water tank and press firmly on all edges to secure tightly. |
Accessory hose door not closed tightly. | Check accessory hose door and make sure it is closed tightly – it should be locked into place. |
Nozzle not installed correctly. | Remove and reinstall nozzle. |
No power | Outlet may not be active. | Try plugging in a different device that uses a grounded outlet to test for power from outlet. |
Leaking dirty water tank | Tank ring not installed properly. | Remove tank. Remove and reinstall tank ring. |

- Always install float before any wet pick-up operation.
- Unplug before connecting TurboBrush® Tool.
- Plastic film can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep away from children.
- Liquid must not be directed towards equipment containing electrical components.
- Use only the type and amount of liquids specified under the operations section of this guide.

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you aren't sure if the outlet is properly grounded. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance is designed for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit, and has a grounding attachment plug that looks like the plug in the illustration. Make certain that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No plug adapter should be used with this appliance.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be connected to a grounded wiring system.
