ETHERNET SWITCH Installation Guide
Each Ethernet Switch allows you to share sonar and navigation data from up to five Ethernet items
(see Connecting the Ethernet Cables for limitations). Depending on the number of control heads
and accessories you are connecting, you may require multiple Ethernet Switches.
This accessory can only be used with Humminbird control heads that have Ethernet capability.

Read the instructions in this guide completely to understand the installation guidelines before
starting the installation.
Supplies: In addition to the hardware supplied with your installation kit, you will need a powered
hand drill, a 9/64" drill bit, a Phillips screwdriver, a level, a pencil, and optional-purchase
Humminbird Ethernet cables.
Update your software: As you build your network, it is important to keep your control head and
accessory software up to date. Your Ethernet Switch is updated through your control head and
requires the following software versions:
APEX/XPLORE/SOLIX: 5.0 and newer
HELIX: 2.890 and newer

| Determine the Mounting Location
The Ethernet Switch is designed to mount on any flat, level surface of your boat. Prior to installation,
you must first determine where to mount the Ethernet Switch.
