How do I use my t-slim X2 insulin pump to push insulin through my pump?

1 comments:
Mr. Anderson
February 25, 2025

The Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump delivers insulin in two ways:
1. Basal Insulin Delivery – Continuous insulin delivery throughout the day.
2. Bolus Insulin Delivery – Insulin delivered at mealtimes or to correct high blood sugar.

To use the pump:
- Fill the disposable cartridge with up to 300 units of U-100 insulin and attach it to the pump.
- Use a compatible infusion set.
- If using a CGM (Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7, or Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus), glucose readings will be sent to the pump.
- Activate a Personal Profile for insulin delivery settings.
- Start insulin delivery following on-screen instructions.
- Check for air bubbles in the insulin to ensure proper delivery.

If insulin delivery is stopped, the pump will display an All Deliveries Stopped screen.

CHAPTER 34 • Technical Specifications 34.10 IEC 60601-1-10: Physiological Closed-Loop Controlled System Control-IQ+ manages insulin therapy using a closed-loop control algorithm which modulates basal delivery and initiates periodic automatic correction boluses based on predicted glucose, insulin delivery history, and user input variables. The control algorithm uses continual feedback of Estimated Glucose Values (EGVs) from a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), user-reported carbohydrate entries, insulin delivery history, and user weight to predict estimated blood glucose 30 minutes in the future.
