Chapter 4 The Firmware Upgrade Utility Introduction The purpose of the Windows-based Firmware Upgrade Utility is to provide an easy process for upgrading the VS481C. The program comes as part of a Firmware Upgrade Package that is specific for each device. As new firmware versions become available, new firmware upgrade packages are posted on our website.
VS481C User Manual Preparation To prepare for the firmware upgrade, do the following: 1. Use an RS-232 cable to connect a COM port on your computer to the RS- 232 Serial Port of your VS481C. VS481C 2. Unplug the VS481C’s power adapter. 3.

Run the downloaded firmware upgrade package file either by double- clicking the file icon, or by opening a command line and entering the full path to it.
